Pool and Backyard Contractor Key West

One of the most significant decisions a homeowner can decide is to add a Key West swimming pool to their backyard. After all, the backyard will be completely transformed, making the area unrecognizable and turning it into the amazing entertainment and enjoyment space you and your family have been dreaming of.

At MT Construction Group, we are excited to be a part of this exciting project. We will work hard to deliver it to you as quickly as possible, never compromising on its quality.

Getting Your Key West Swimming Pool Started

At the initial meeting with our swimming pool designers, we will get to know your design preferences and get a general idea of the vision you have for your backyard. We understand that every one of our clients will have a different aesthetic and will design a pool to match that. To do that, we will also need to study the terrain, note where your utilities are located and how easy your backyard is to access, and figure out the best positioning for the pool.

Working with all that information, we will present a project to you for your review and approval, get all your questions answered, and get the project started.

Swimming Pool Materials & Process

Once all the permits have been pulled and all existing utility lines located, the placement of the pool will be outlined to mark its precise shape. Then, the construction team at MT Construction Group will start by excavating the lot and reinforcing the structure with steel in order to create a solid support for your pool, no matter what shape or size it is.

A rigid contoured grid of steel rebar installed by our team creates the support of your new pool. Once this has passed inspection, plumbing lines are finished as well as skimmers and return lines. If your pool calls for a waterfall, a raised spa, or any other design feature, the plumbing lines will be installed at this point.

Plumbing is very important in any pool project since its function is to aid in water circulation and filtration that will keep the water clear.

A mix of rock, sand, and cement called gunite is then applied through a hose all around the pool to form the pool’s shell. This is the first moment when you can actually see what your pool will look like when it’s finished.

Once the gunite has cured, the plumbers come back to finish the job as well as the electricians who will install pool lights and the breaker box that feeds the pool equipment. Gas lines to heat the pool will also be incorporated.

Now comes the installation of the tile you have selected and the coping around the pool edge that caps the pool shell wall. Once this is finished, you can expect your pool to last for years. The project will be finished once the pool deck comes in. It is important to choose a pool deck material that goes well with your home’s aesthetics and the overall look you want for the pool.

Once the area is cleaned and a pool fence is installed, you will be able to fully enjoy your swimming pool in Florida.

Landscape Design

After that gorgeous pool has been put in, the rest of your backyard needs to be upgraded as well. Whether you want to create a true outdoor oasis or a great area for the kids to play, the landscape specialists at MT Construction Group will help you transform your patio, yard, or garden and enhance the natural surroundings of your property. To understand what you want from that area, it is important to ask yourself some questions:

  • How much space do you have?
  • How much regular upkeep are you willing to do?
  • Are you interested in plants that are perennial, or do you want to replace them every year?

Our Key West landscaping designers will help you make this a place where you want to spend time and enjoy your lifestyle. Here are some ideas you might want to consider adding:

A Fire Pit

A fire pit in your backyard makes an ideal gathering place on balmy nights. A stone pathway can lead your guests to a corner of your yard where they may enjoy a roasted marshmallow or simply gaze into the fire under a starry sky. Comfortable lounge chairs will complement the high-end look of your backyard.

A Gazebo or Pergola

Careful planning by our Florida Keys home builders can create a cozy lounge area for you and your guests to enjoy. If space permits, we can place it right by the pool to offer you a shady spot to enjoy the kids as they swim about. Adding a swing bed under the pergola will give a resort-style look to the entire property.

A Water Feature

The main water feature will no doubt be the pool itself, but adding a fountain to your backyard landscaping will allow all of your senses to enjoy the place at once. Besides the sounds of birds chirping, the whispering of water in a fountain will actually make you feel as though you have stepped into another world, one that takes you far away from the daily chores and routines.

Garden Design

Rows of flowers placed along wandering paths, contrasting and complementing in color around bushes and trees, will give a finishing touch to your garden. Adding rocks along the curved line delineated by the flowers will add a heightened level of interest to the design.
