What to Expect

If you want to find the perfect pool for your home, it is best to have one custom-designed. There are a few things you should know about pool construction before you begin the process.

You Must Consider Zoning Laws

Before you call us to design and install your pool, you should research the zoning ordinances in your part of Coral Gables, FL. You must find out if you are legally allowed to have a pool and if you will need a permit to put one on your property.

In some cases, it may take several months to get such a permit. So, it is a good idea to get this information as soon as possible. You should also contact your insurance company and find out about adding your pool to your insurance policy.

Set Up a Consultation

Once you have all the necessary paperwork, you will want to consult with us to decide on the design and size of your pool. We will discuss the type of material that your pool will be made out of.

The material we will use will affect the cost, quality, and time the pool construction will take. For example, fiberglass is less expensive and easy to install, but it will not last as long as concrete will.

Our consultant will help you figure out what kind of irrigation system you will have in your pool. You can use freshwater, saltwater, or chlorine. We will discuss how each of these options will affect the longevity and cleanliness of your pool.

We will discuss the construction process and how it will affect your daily life. We can also set up a time for the construction to begin.

Think About the Extras You Want for Your Pool

Do you want to have underwater lighting in your pool, or will you only be swimming during the day? If you want to give your pool an upscale look, you may want to consider cascading water.

If you have children, a diving board or a slide may be a nice addition. You will want to let us know about any additions to the pool as soon as possible.

What the Pool Construction Process is Like

Once you have made a plan for your pool, the construction will begin. This can take anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks. There are a few basic steps to the process.

1. Layout and Excavation

When contractors from Miami Tile first arrive at your home they will begin laying out the size and shape of the pool. They will mark off the portion of the ground where they will dig. The next day they will come in with an excavator to dig the hole for the pool. This process will take a day or two.

2. Plumbing and Heating

This is one of the most complicated stages of the installation process. Our professional plumbing contractors will perform hydraulic calculations and install the pipes that will filter the water in your pool. They will install a system to fill and drain your pool as well.

If you want your pool to be heated and have a lighting system, our contractor will install wires connecting to your home’s fuse box. If your home is heated by gas, the contractor will run lines from the gas meter to the equipment in the pool. This can take a few days or even weeks.

3. Inspection

The city will then come out and inspect our contractors’ work. This may take up to a week or longer.

4. Pouring Shotcrete

Shotcrete is concrete used for pools; it is shot through a high-pressure hose. This creates the shell of a pool. Once the concrete is in the pool, the contractor will have to water it every few days so it can set slowly.

Once the concrete is dry, we can begin to add the special water features you have selected.

5. Decking

We will put the decking around your pool at this stage. This will normally take around five days. We can also install a living area around the pool with features like seating and cabanas.

6. Final Inspection

The city will then come out and perform a final inspection. When we pass this review, we will begin cleaning up our construction area.

7. The Finishing Touches

The last thing we will do is spray the finish on the inside of your pool. It should take about a day to dry. We will then fill your pool with water and chlorine. It may take us about a day to get the chemical balance right. You should be able to go for a swim a few days later.

Your Back Yard

We can add different features to your backyard. Lanais are very popular in Coral Gables. FL. We can install a fire pit, picnic tables, or even a hot tub to go with your new pool.

Coral Gables, FL is a beautiful place that is warm all year. You will get a lot of use out of a pool, and it will add value to your home. We are in demand, so give us a call today.
